Boarding School, Better For Parent-Teen Relationships?
There is no doubt that generally speaking children thrive at the right boarding school and parents that send their children to boarding school tend to have much closer relationships with their offspring that the parents who send their children to day school. Perhaps this is because you’re not sweating the small stuff and every moment you spend with your teenager is so special.
In avoiding being the irritating parent who daily nags your son to pick up his socks, his hygiene routine or harping on about how many hours he spends in his room listening to morbid music you begin to have more open and honest relationship. You become the person he wants to talk to not the person he’s hiding things from, that role goes to matron or his house parents.
