About Tyne O'Connell
Yes the rumours are all true. I live alone in a tragically small flat in St James's, pining for my fifteen year-old daughter/muse/style consultant, Cordelia, who ran away to an all girls' boarding school, just like Calypso, the narrator of Pulling Princes.
I have written five teen books including four books in the Calypso Chronicles series and seven books in the Wit Lit contemporary fiction genre. Oh, and I've also written features for Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle and other mags.
Before deciding to become a grown-up-type person and write, I travelled the world as a professional gambler which was quite a lot of fun because I’m keen on hard sums and staying up late. I spent a few years in Cairo which is a lovely place for riding horses across the desert at night.
My favourite game is poker which is good for developing the art of inscrutable looks which come in handy when I’m trying to be mature. I still play poker with friends because it keeps my brain cells lively. I also wear inappropriate footwear (flats are bad for your posture). I still apply lip gloss when I see fit boys and mad blurts still escape me despite my best attempts to be inscrutable and sophisticated. I do a lot of vigorous exercise to stay fit - also known as shopping and I write all my books in bed listening to music, watching television and on-line gambling - I believe the technical term is multi-tasking.
